Lorraine Esther Fischer

Lorraine Esther Fischer, age 90, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Maplecrest Manor in Ripon.

Lorraine was born on February 17, 1933 in the Town of Utica, WI, daughter of Henry and Esther (Roeder) Retzlaff. She graduated from Ripon High School, where she was a member of Future Homemakers of America. On September 19, 1953, Lorraine married Earl F. Fischer at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. After 66 years of marriage, Earl passed away in December, 2019. 

Lorraine worked at Advertisers Mfg. Co and was also a lunch server at Alice Callan and Murray Park schools for over 30 years. She was a devoted member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon where she was involved with The Church Women United, Pairs and Spares, Everybody Singers and the choir. She was also a member of the Twin R Homemakers Club and Ripon Public School PTO. Lorraine enjoyed sewing for her family, baking, decorating cakes, fishing, dancing, reading, Bible study groups and most of all being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Karen (Ken) Waterman of Fremont, WI; her sons, Kenneth Fischer and Calvin (Sandy) Fischer both of Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Katie (Tristan) Hipps, Abby (JT) Jenkins, Elizabeth (finance, Nick Welch) Fischer, Jason Fischer, Joshua Denkert, Mark (Kelly) Denkert; step-granddaughter, Cassandra Waterman; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Retzlaff; sisters-in-law, Delores Landsinger, LaVerne Fischer; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnold (Betty Lou) Retzlaff; in-laws, Lester (Pauline) Fischer, William Fischer, Jr., Jim (Gertrude) Van Loo, Russell Landsinger, Delores Retzlaff, William Sr., Bertha Fischer; her guardians, Aunt Erna and Uncle Gilbert Van Kirk.

Visitation for Lorraine will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.

A funeral service for Lorraine will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, with Rev. Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating. Interment will take place at Green Lake Center Cemetery, Town of Green Lake, WI.
