Lillian A. Wilkin, 88, of Heritage Retirement Community in Brookfield, WI, formerly of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Thursday morning, January 6, 2005 at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, WI.
Lillian was born to Edwin and Alvina (Wietzke) Strehlow on Feb. 20, 1916, in Milwaukee, WI. She attended grade and high school in Juda, WI, and three years at Milwaukee Vocational School. She was united in marriage to Fred W. Wilkin on July1, 1939, at St. Annes Church.
Surviving are her children, a son Steven (Diane) Wilkin of Oregon, WI, and two daughters, Sharon (James) Petrovich of Pensacola, FL, and Wendy (Evan) Gullickson of Brookfield, WI; one brother, Robert (Mary Lou) Strehlow of Montello, WI; one sister, Ruth Kirchhoff of Oldsmar, FL; and one brother-in-law, Ben Wilkin; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was employed at Schuster-Gimbels almost 25 years as a department manager until Freds retirement, when they moved to Green Lake, WI in l975. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and a member of the Schuster-Leisure Club. At the time of her death she was residing at Heritage Retirement Community in Brookfield, WI. Fred preceded her in death on December 13, 1996, and four brothers also preceded her. Memorials may be given in her name to Sisters of the Divine Savior, 4311 North 100th St, Milwaukee, WI 53222-1393.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian will be held at 12 noon on Monday, January 10, 2005, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake.
