Lilace Smith

Lilace Smith, age 86, of Ripon, WI died on Wednesday, January 1, 1997 at Parkview Care Center in Ripon, where she resided since June of 1995.

Lilace was born on January 8, 1910, in the the Town of Springvale, WI, a daughter of Carl and Mathilda Jaeger Wagner. On June 1, 1935 she married Clarence Smith. He died in 1970.

Lilace was educated in the Town of Springvale. She was employed as a meat-wrapper at R-Line Foods in Ripon until retiring in 1967. She was a member of Our Saviour's United Church of Christ in Ripon.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Smith of Ripon; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and a brother.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Friday, January 3, 1997 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 1997 at 7:00 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Eric Burnard officiating. Interment will take place on Saturday, January 4, 1997, 9:00 am, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Our Saviour's UCC in her name.
