Leonard A. Buchholz, age 91, of Ripon, died Tuesday afternoon, April 18, 2000, at his home.
He was born August 30, 1908, a son to Frank and Emma (Bauman) Buchholz. He attended school in the Town of Ripon. On June 20, 1936, he married Margaret Nitz in Menomonie Falls. Leonard farmed in the Fairwater area until 1955, and then worked at the Speed Queen Plant in Omro and in the Maintenance Department at Ripon College. Mr. Buchholz was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Buchholz; 1 daughter, Suzanne (Gary) Smith and 1 grandson, Jason, South Barrington, IL; 4 brothers, Herbert (Alice) Buchholz, Ripon, Clayton (Lois) Buchholz and Maurice (Gloria) Buchholz, Tacoma, WA, and Howard (Valarie) Buchholz, Green Bay; and 2 sisters, Helen (Elmer) Sawall, Oshkosh, and Donna (Chester) Burton, Pardeville. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Harvey and Robert, and 3 sisters, Violet Ewald, Alice Snelling and Lois Ann McConnell.
Funeral service for Mr. Buchholz will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 21, 2000, at lmmanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon with Pastor David Busker officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Garden of the Cross, Ripon.
