Leona Roeder, age 89, of Ripon, died Thursday, June 20, 1996, after a short stay at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
She was born August 11, 1906, in the Town of Nepeuskun, a daughter to William and Bertha (Schultz) Bier. She attended school in Ripon and later worked as a housekeeper at Ripon College for 32 years. Leona married Herman Roeder on November 28, 1934. Mr. Roeder passed away in 1975. She was a lifelong member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Survivors include 2 sisters-in-law, Agnes Gatzke and Florence Hock; 2 brothers-in-law, August and Robert Roeder; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral service for Leona Roeder will be Saturday, June 22, 1996, at 10 A.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. The Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate, and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. There will be no visitation.
