Leland C. Miller, age 94, of Pickett, WI, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Leland was born April 30, 1921, in Town of Utica, WI, the son of August and Jennie (Plantz) Miller. On August 22, 1942, he married Lucille G. Pommerich. Leland spent his most enjoyable years farming. In his later years, he enjoyed driving his Caterpillar tractor and supervising from the seat of his John Deere Gator. Leland and Lucille wintered in Florida for many years. He was a life-long member of the church he loved, Grace Lutheran.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy (Richard) Mucks; three sons, Dave (Gail) Miller, Bruce (special friend, David Wilkins) Miller and Jeff (special friend, Jill Pearson) Miller all of Pickett, WI; seven grandchildren, Kristin (Tom) Smits of Appleton, WI, Michelle (Blake) Reinke of Wayzata, MN, Angela Miller of Oshkosh, WI, Joel Miller of Green Bay, WI, Lisa Miller of Oshkosh, WI, Ryan Miller of Pickett, WI and Alex Miller of Oshkosh, WI; five great-grandchildren, Aaron Smits of Grand Forks, ND, Courtney Smits of Appleton, WI, Emma and Claire Reinke both of Wayzata, MN and Richard Sprouse of Oshkosh, WI. He was further survived by many nieces and nephews. Leland was preceded in death by his parents, August and Jennie; wife of 66 years, Lucille and brother, Lester.
Visitation for Leland will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016, from 9 – 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church, 502 Cty Rd. M, Pickett, WI 54964.
Funeral Service for Leland will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016, at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett. Pastor Jud Krohn will officiate. Interment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Utica. Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, 502 Cty Rd. M, Pickett, WI 54964.
