Lawrence Lamire

Lawrence W. LaMire, age 86, of Markesan, formerly of Racine, passed away on Friday, September 04, 2009, at Markesan Residence Home in Markesan.
Lawrence was born on May 19, 1923, in Duluth, MN, the son of William and Lenore (Piche) LaMire. He was in the 101st AirBorne from 1943 – 1946 in the European Theater of Operations. Lawrence worked for Racine Unified School District and was a former employee of Horlick Malted Milk Company. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, and worked on the dam at Hudson, WI. Lawrence also was a member of the Model A Collectors of Racine and a long time Harley motorcycle rider.
Survivors include his twin brother, Clarence (Joann) LaMire of Green Lake, WI; his cousin, Kenneth Musolf of Mesa, AZ; and his friends, Steve Hansen and Jack Manallie. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Evelyn Pater.
Visitation for Lawrence will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009, from 4:30 – 5:30 pm at Christ Church Methodist in Racine, WI: 5109 Washington Ave. Racine, WI.
Memorial Service for Lawrence will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at 5:30 pm at Christ Church Methodist in Racine, WI: 5109 Washington Ave. Racine, WI Reverend Mark Swanson will officiate. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at 11:00 am at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake, WI. Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez will officiate.
