Lawrence "Chuck" Floyd, Jr.

Lawrence “Chuck” Floyd, Jr., age 82, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at his home.
Chuck was born December 23, 1938, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Lawrence and Bernice (Wilhelms) Floyd. He graduated from Ripon High School with the class of 1957 and served our country as a member of the United States Army in the early 1960’s. Chuck worked as a machinist for 35 years at Medalist Industries in Oshkosh, WI. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing for trout, bass, bluegills and northern pike with his friends and family. Chuck harvested many whitetails and enjoyed sharing the venison with others. He was also a trapper for many years. Chuck’s greatest joy was to spend time with family and friends whenever possible. He will always be remembered for his kind and caring ways and wonderful sense of humor.
Chuck is survived by his loving partner of 28 years, Arlene Alvin; Arlene’s wonderful and caring family who Chuck loved dearly, Donald, James (Ruth) and Dale (Julie) Alvin, Barb (Dick) Thiel, and Lynn (Steve) Lambert; his children, Kenneth “Bud” Floyd and Christine (Kevin Pfaff) Slabosheski; grandchildren, Kenny Floyd, April Slabosheski and Angela Floyd; great-grandchildren, Jorja, Aiden and McKenzie; sisters, Jean and Mary Jo; brothers, Earl, Denis, Roy and Roger; special friend and neighbor, Jeff Perington; special friend, Shelley Schwandt; and his cat, Spider. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Bernice Floyd; great-grandson, Miles; infant sister, Eileen; sisters, Ruth and Ellen; former wife, Karen Floyd; niece, Denise Eberhart; and Anthony Alvin.
A visitation for Chuck will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 9 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
A memorial service for Chuck will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon, WI.
