Kathleen Wesner

June 4, 1944 — June 26, 2021

Kathleen Diane Wesner, age 77, of Princeton, WI, went home peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at UW Madison Hospital with her family by her side.

Kathleen was born June 4, 1944, the daughter of Victor and Helene (Foelske) Gorr. She was the strongest woman anyone knew. Her personality was one of a kind. Kathleen knew how to handle any situation and brought so much joy into everyone’s heart. She could talk for hours, and make it seem like only a few minutes. “Don’t throw that away” …she would always say… she found a purpose for everything she laid her eyes on. Just like her life, she had so many purposes. She always showed kindness, and was eager to help in every situation.

Kathleen was a devoted servant to the Lord, and you could see God’s light shine right through her. If you ever needed advice, you could always ask “Kathleen” (just be prepared for her unfiltered answer). Kathleen loved baking, cooking, and sewing. Her hands and mind were rarely still.
Everyone loved her homemade cinnamon rolls, pies and chicken salad.

For many years, Kathleen worked at the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, where she touched many souls and lives. She also owned her own store, which was very authentic and reflected Kathy’s personality. She sold a variety of cute clothes, books, jewelry, and crafts which reflected God’s love.

Kathleen knew God always had a plan and was with her through any struggles she faced. She would always tell her family and friends about her favorite poem, “Footprints in the Sand” by Carolyn Joyce Carty, and how we should always keep our faith even when there are hard times ahead. God is always in control.

She loved taking trips to Branson, MO with her family. Kathleen created so many memories with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in Branson. She would always sing at the top of her lungs to the “Duttons” and “Haygood’s.” Her voice will always be remembered in our minds and hearts.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, James Wesner, Sr.; children, James (Margie) Wesner, Jr., Mark (Jackie) Wesner, Wendy (Chuck) Pearce, and John (Tonya) Wesner; grandchildren, Kirsten (Patrick) Brueske, Brittany (Caleb) Vertz, Abby Wesner, Carly (Robert) Wesner, Tyler Bruins, Jordan Wesner, James Wesner III, Amanda Bruins and Garrett Wesner; step-grandchildren, Adam (Dana) Reyes and Crystal Reyes; great-grandchildren, Ivanka, Eve and Ivan Brueske; step-great-grandchildren, Jayde and Ava Reyes; and brother, Richard (Susan) Gorr. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Helene Gorr; and step-grandson, Jason Reyes.

A visitation for Kathleen will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 1 – 3:00 pm at Terrace Shores Evangelical Free Church, W3278 County Rd K, Markesan, WI 53946.

A funeral service for Kathleen will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Terrace Shores Evangelical Free Church, with Pastor Gary Zacharias officiating. Interment will follow at Weiser Cemetery, Town of Princeton, WI. Memorials in Kathleen’s name may be directed to: Terrace Shores Evangelical Free Church, W3278 County Rd K, Markesan, WI 53946.

Kathleen’s favorite Bible verse was “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6
Kathleen will be missed tremendously, but we know she is in Heaven.
