Judith “Judy” A. Locke of Ripon, WI, died Monday, May 25, 2026 following a brief illness.

Judy was born November 21, 1941, daughter of Clara (Nelson) and Sumner Ralston of Reading, MA. She attended elementary, junior high, and high schools in Reading, and graduated from Reading Memorial High School in 1959. She then completed a program at the Cambridge School of Business in Boston, and worked for a Boston insurance company before marrying William Locke on June 7, 1964. They lived briefly in Ripon before moving to New York where William served two years in the United States Army Military Police Corps, and where their daughter, Bonnie Nordmark of Ripon, was born. They returned to Ripon in 1967 where Judy has lived since. She and William were divorced in 1992.

In high school, Judy was active in the Order of Rainbow for Girls, the First Baptist Church of Reading, and the Massachusetts chapter of the Youth Temperance Council. In Ripon, she worked briefly as a secretary in the Ripon College English Department and later as secretary at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. She also worked as a medical transcriptionist at Ripon Community Hospital. She enjoyed quilting and several forms of needlework, and won awards for her needlepoint creations. She enjoyed traveling to visit lighthouses and collected miniature versions. Judy completed Emergency Medical Technician training at Moraine Park Technical College and served as an EMT for Ripon Guardian Ambulance Service. She was active at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Ripon.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Karin; and her brother, David. She is survived by her former husband, William; their daughter, Bonnie (Joseph) Nordmark; and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life for Judy will be held at a later date.
