Joyce Ann Meier, age 91, of Ripon, WI, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at
Wolverton Glen in Ripon.
Joyce was born October 25, 1930, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Frank and Eleanor (Stewart) Barlow. After graduating as high school valedictorion, she married Wayne Meier in 1949, had two sons, and lived in both Madison and Hayward, WI. After raising her family, Joyce became a secretary at the University of WI, Madison, working with 3rd year medical students who twice voted her “most valuable employee.” She was an active Jehovah Witness and lived a life guided by her principles and beliefs, always endeavoring to put her faith into action.
She is survived by her two sons, Rick (Janet) Meier of Ripon, WI and Scott (Brenda) Meier of
Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren, Jacob (Toni) Meier of West Bend, WI, Caleb (Emily) Meier of
Dewey, AZ, Abigail Meier of Ripon, WI, Nikole Meier of Old Hickory, TN, Erik (Anna) Meier of Royal Oak, MI, Kathy Meier of New York, NY and Michelle (Tyler) Morgan of Royal Oak, MI and eight great-grandchildren. Joyce is further survived by a brother, John (Lynn) Barlow of Madison, WI and two sisters, Carol (Al) Mears of Bonifay, FL and Marilyn (Dan) Manglos of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, David and Richard Barlow, one sister, Patricia Schenck, and Joyce's husband of 33 years, Wayne Meier.
A memorial service is planned for a later date. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank
the staff at Wolverton Glen and Generations Hospice for their compassionate care of Joyce in her final years.
