Joyce E. Ledwith

Joyce Eleanor Ledwith, age 86, of Ripon, WI, passed away with her family by her side on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Edenbrook of Oshkosh.

Joyce was born April 21, 1937 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of Jerry and Marjorie (Blagborne) Borden. She graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1955 and went on to college to receive her associate degree. Joyce married John Ledwith in Los Angeles, CA in 1963. Together they moved back and forth between Los Angeles and Ripon several times over the years before settling in the Ripon area in 1977. Joyce worked at the Ripon Community Printers for 22 years. When her husband passed in 1989, Joyce moved to Key Largo, FL for several years before eventually returning once again to Wisconsin. Joyce loved art and music, especially show tunes. She was always singing or humming a song. She sang with the Ripon College Holiday Choir for many years. Joyce also had a love for animals. She had many dog and cat companions over the years but one of her favorites was her fur baby, Boomer. 

Joyce is survived by her children, Steve (Anne) Ledwith of Neenah, WI, Mike (Kathy) Ledwith of Plymouth, WI, Lindy McLaren of Iola, WI and Lisa (Patrick Aschenbrenner) Ueda of Neenah, WI; grandchildren, Mitchell, Nicholas, Zachary, Andrew, Alex, Nathan, Carolyn, Susie Joy, Jamison, Donovan, Merrilee, Ty and Mae. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, John Ledwith; parents, Jerry and Marjorie Borden; brother, Don Borden; and her dog, Boomer. 

A visitation for Joyce will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 1 – 2:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. 

A funeral service for Joyce will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Rev. Karin Derenne officiating. Private interment will take place at Garden of the Cross Cemetery, City of Ripon, WI on Monday, July 3, 2023. Memorials in Joyce’s name may be directed to the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association, 620 South 76th St., Milwaukee, WI 53214. The family would like to thank the staff at Edenbrook of Oshkosh and Aurora Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Joyce.
