John E. St. Louis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Edward St. Louis, age 74, of Princeton, WI, on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Thedacare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, WI. 

John was born on August 23, 1949, in Milwaukee, WI, son of Clarence (Jack) and Dolores (Stewart) St. Louis. He moved to Princeton, WI, in his sophomore year of high school and graduated from Princeton High School. He married Patricia Sondalle, his high school sweetheart, on September 25, 1971. They recently celebrated their 52^nd wedding anniversary. John and Pat had two daughters together, Melissa and Heather. 

John dedicated his 48-year career to Speed Queen, now known as Alliance Laundry Systems. In his younger years, John enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, playing cards, bowling and shooting pool. He was a home body who enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife in his yard. He loved watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. You would often see him wearing his Green Bay Packers hat. He also enjoyed watching movies, listening to music and comedians. He had a strong interest in science fiction, history and technology. He had a real knack for math and numbers, and he was very quick-witted and sharp-minded. And he always had the hope of winning the lottery. He had quite a sweet tooth, especially for chocolate cake. He was also known for making malts and playing games with his grandsons. 

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family and all that knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Patricia St. Louis; daughters, Melissa (Scott) Prosen, Heather (Sergio) Pedreguera; grandchildren, Tyler and Dylan Prosen, Noah Pedreguera; brother-in-law, Robert (Shelby) Sondalle; nieces, Jessica (Jim) Haasser and their children Michael and Alexis, Melissa (Paul) DiCicco, and their daughter Sophia DiCicco. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lionel and Agnes Stewart; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Kathryn St. Louis; parents, Clarence Jr. and Dolores St. Louis; mother-in-law, Shirley Sondalle; and father-in-law, Gerald Sondalle.

Per John’s wishes, the family will not be holding a service. A memorial is being established in his name.
