John "Jack" M. Selzer, Sr.

John “Jack” Selzer, 88, a longtime resident of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2026 at Barrett House in Green Lake, WI.

Jack was born on June 11, 1938, to Roman and Florence Selzer. He worked for the Village of Arlington Heights, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and generously volunteered his time at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, giving back to the community he called home.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandy, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage, and his sons, Bill, Bob, and Tom.

He is survived by his son, John Selzer, and daughter, Melinda Selzer; his grandchildren, Gretchen, Jake, Cody, and Lisa; and his many great-grandchildren.

Jack will be remembered by his family and all those whose lives he touched throughout his years in Arlington Heights. His years of service and willingness to give back to his community were an important part of his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Burial will be private.
