Jay Ondra, age 56, of Auroraville, WI, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI.
Jay was born on April 8, 1964 in Belleville, IL, the son of Duane and Shirley (Etling) Ondra. He graduated from Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School in Bourbonnais, IL. Jay went on to receive a Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and then a Master of Business Administration degree from DePaul University in Chicago. On July 1, 1990 he married Cara Knoeppel at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Jay worked as an engineer for 34 years and enjoyed raising horses and working on the farm with his wife.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Cara Ondra of Auroraville, WI; his mother, Shirley Ondra of Cordova, TN; two brothers, Dr. Stephen (Dr. Laurel Blakemore) Ondra of Williston, FL and Todd (Diane) Ondra of Eads, TN; two nephews, TJ Ondra and Brady (fiancée Deni) Ondra; and four nieces, Heidi (James) Wharton, Stevie Ondra, Kate Ondra, and Marisa Ondra. He was preceded in death by his father, Duane Ondra.
A graveside service and inurnment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Auroraville, WI, at a later date. A memorial is being established in Jay's name.
