Janet Steffen

August 21, 1938 — March 24, 2021

Janet Marie Steffen, age 82, of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Prairie Place in Ripon.

Janet was born August 21, 1938, in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Kurt and Caroline (Duehring) Noebel. She graduated from high school and went on to receive her LPN license where she was a nurse for over 40 years. Janet was a member of a quilt guild which she truly enjoyed. She also loved knitting, crocheting, and fishing. Janet volunteered at the Ripon hospital gift shop where she loved being able to interact with people. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Ripon, where she was an active member in many aspects and a deep believer in Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn (Scott) McMillan of Ripon, WI, son, Brad (Patty) Steffen and their two sons, Spencer and Adam Steffen all of Appleton, WI; three grandchildren, Benjamin (Becca) McMillian of Oshkosh, WI, Daniel (Danielle) McMillan of Winneconne, WI and Sarah (Peter) Olson of Green Bay, WI and one great-grandchild, Ryker McMillan; sisters, Gloria Bernhard of Prairie, GA and Carol Wichman of Oshkosh, WI and the father of her children, James (Sue) Steffen of Neenah, WI. Janet is further survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kurt Noebel, Jr. and brothers-in-law, Gus Bernhard and Lester Wichman.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 777 Harvey St., Ripon, WI 54971.
