Janet Parno

April 9, 1938 — August 14, 2017

Janet A. Parno, age 79, of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2017, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI, with her loving family by her side.

Janet was born in Guckeen, MN, at home, on April 9, 1938, the daughter of Dick and Andrea (Honken) Dontje. She graduated from Huntley High School in Huntley, MN. On March 7, 1958, she married Gary Parno in Pine City, MN, and enjoyed nearly 60 years together. Gary, her children, and grandchildren meant everything to her, and they were the love and joy of her life. She also enjoyed writing poetry and short stories, exploring family geneology, and the internet and technology. She had an incredible talent and gift for decorating, and enjoyed making their home look great. She was also a wonderful cook, and her family always looked forward to her big meals.

Janet is survived by her husband, Gary; four children: Cary (Cathy) Parno of Bend, OR, Brad (Ann) Parno of River Falls, WI, Lisa Coffman of Rockford, IL, and Patrick (Connie) Parno of Berlin, WI; grandchildren: Matthew, Amy, Christopher, Alana, Salvatore, Nicholas, Marissa, Emily, and Alexis; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Struss of Fairmont, MN; a brother, Harvey (Barb) Dontje of Winnebago, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Andrea; and her sister, Linda Schneider.

There will be a private celebration of her life for her family. Memorials in her name may be directed to St. Agnes Hospital Foundation, 430 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, WI, 54935.
