Janet M. Arens

Janet Marie Arens, age 77, of Ripon, WI (formerly of Muskego, WI), passed away at Whispering Pines on Thursday, June 1, 2023, with her loving family by her side.

Janet loved her family fiercely and showed her love through food, crocheted gifts and her generous heart. She shared a great love affair with her husband of 49 years, Joseph Arens, and their relationship was admired by all. She was known as Auntie Jelly and Sugar Grandma and was famous for bringing her pickles and rye bread to family events.

Janet is survived by her children, Julie Davison of Ripon, WI, Pamela (Paul) Ethington of Ripon, WI, and Dr. Matthew (Jacquelyn) Arens of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Alison (Kevin) Mayer, Joshua (Averi) Davison, James (Marissa) Ethington, PJ Ethington, Justine, Caiden and Jakohbi Arens; great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Colleen) Hriszko; her best friend, Marlene Reilly; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Arens; her parents, William and Julia Hriszko; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nephews.

A private family Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, with the Rev. Jim Leary, OFM CAP officiating. A memorial is being established in her name.
