Jan K. Kapral

Jan Kay Kapral, age 78, of Ripon, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at her home in Ripon, with her devoted and loving daughter by her side.

Jan was born on March 8, 1947 in Madison, WI, daughter of Lyle and Joyce (Dahlke) Brown.

Jan married her one true love Robert (Bob) Kapral June 25, 1966.

In her younger years Jan enjoyed playing badminton, volleyball, and ping pong, bowling, and playing checkers. She also enjoyed shopping, having lunch with friends, going to parties with friends, hairstyling, crafting, dancing, and enjoying a beautiful day with a brisk walk.

She had a passion for all things that sparkled and was never seen without her finest dress, never without a touch of glitter. Her home reflected her personality: always tidy warm and welcoming. She took great pride in keeping a clean and beautiful space, where everything had its place and every corner held a memory. Her love for the holidays was unmatched, and her kitchen was the heart of every celebration. Her traditional recipes were more than meals-they were expressions of love, passed down with care.

Her grandchildren/great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, especially Mila, whom she often called one of her life’s greatest gifts. Mila was her heart, her treasure, and one of her greatest blessings.

She held deep appreciation for her half-sister, with whom she shared a special bond. Their time together brought her comfort and joy, and she often spoke with love and gratitude about their connection. She was also blessed with friends who remained close throughout the years. Those who stayed in touch, checked in, and reminded her she was loved. Their presence meant the world to her.

Jan is survived by her daughter, Crystal (Justin) Hamer of Ripon, WI; granddaughter, Mila; son, Cory Kapral, and son, Creg (Wendy) Kapral; grandchild, Taylor Snook; great-grandchildren, Khyber, Ketsiyah, and Akio; half-sister, Julie (Tim) Sparks; half-brother, Steven Maurer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Joyce Brown; husband, Robert Kapral; many loved ones and even more family members, too many to mention.

Visitation for Jan will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Jan will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the funeral home, with Pastor Jeffrey Drake officiating.

Jan says black was never her favorite color; she preferred coral and any bright, beautiful, glittery clothing that matched her vibrant spirit. Please help honor her by wearing your brightest outfits.
