James Walter Splittgaber, of Princeton, WI, passed away at Bethel Nursing Home in Oshkosh, WI on May 30, 2020, at the age of 73. He passed due to complications from Covid-19 after a long battle with cancer.
Jim was born in Ripon, WI on December 12, 1946, the son of Earl Splittgaber, Sr. and Merle (Quinn) Splittgaber. He attended Ripon Public Schools and joined the U.S. Army in 1966. Jim worked at Speed Queen in Ripon for 40 years before his retirement.
Jim had a passion for old cars. He owned several Street Rods and loved going to car shows and stock car races with his grandkids. Jim also enjoyed snowmobiling, duck hunting, and his yearly vacations to Florida. He was a former member of the Fondy Vintage Auto Club and Ripon Car Club.
Jim is survived by a son, Gary (Terrie Michelle) Splittgaber of St. Petersburg, Fl; a daughter, Julie (Jason) Curtis of Green Lake, WI; and stepson, Tyler Voskuil of Waupun, WI. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Derek, Dylan and Rilynn Splittgaber, Tyler (Ashlee) Pischke, Bryce, Kylie, Alysha Pischke and Brynlee Curtis; his sister, Lois (Daniel) Meilahn; a brother, Dale (Joan) Splittgaber; sister-in-law, Sandy Splittgaber; brother-in-law, Glenn Creapo; along with many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Earl, Sr. and Merle Splittgaber; his brother, Earl Splittgaber Jr.; and sister, Janet Creapo.
Due to Coronavirus there will be no funeral at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
