James Robert Gneiser, age 83, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Pleasant Park Place.
James was born on October 18, 1937 at the Brooks family farmhouse in the town of Brooklyn, WI, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Zweiger) Gneiser. He graduated from Green Lake High School with the Class of 1955. James married Gail McBrair on May 5, 1957. In his early years, James worked for Munsey Mobil Station and drove the Gneiser milk truck to the Brooklyn Creamery. He was best known for his work as a carpenter for Al Klaver and as a custodian for the Green Lake School District. James was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and also a member of the Green Lake Fire Department for many years.
Survivors include his son, Mark (Ruthann) Gneiser of Plymouth, WI; daughter, Penny (Fred) Gneiser-Hardekopf and their dogs of Mequon, WI; grandchildren, Benjamin Gneiser of Shawano, WI, Lizzie Gneiser (fiancé Adam Isley) of Green Leaf, WI, and Micah and Lucas Gneiser of Plymouth, WI; great-grandchildren, Oscar and Bella; sister, Lois (Orlo) Bierman of Green Lake, WI; sister-in-law, Ruby (Bob); brother-in-law, Dean (Vicki) Schwark of Green Lake, WI; very special friend, Marion Sandleback of Green Lake, WI and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Gneiser; wife, Gail Gneiser; and sisters-in-law, Kaye Unger and June Thiem.
A visitation for James will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 10 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
A funeral service for James will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Fritsch officiating.
