James Gerhard Abraham, age 74, of Ripon, passed away on September 10, 2008, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon.
Jim was born on July 23, 1934, in Ripon, the son of Gerhard and Dorothy (Zabrowski) Abraham. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1952 and attended U.W Oshkosh College for 1 year. Jim served his country in the U.S Air Force from 1953-1957. In 1961, he married Agnes Furman. After school he was employed by Marcus Theatres. He was then co-owner of the Maple Lunch Restaurant in Ripon. He worked part-time for the U.S. Post Office in Ripon for many years. Jim retired from Speed Queen in 1995, after 31 years as an Industrial Engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Angie; children, Tara (Chris) Sparks of Ripon, Trisha (Keith) Reopelle of Oregon, WI, Todd (Tanya) Abraham of Ripon, Trudi (Steve) Bush of Fairwater, WI; grandchildren, Ana Sparks, Kestrel and Teal Reopelle, Alicia, Zachary, and Jacob Abraham, Scott Simon, Olivia, Owen and Alex Bush; also survived by sister, Nancy (Leo) Comley, Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for James Abraham will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon.
Memorial Service for James Abraham will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Maurice A. Schaus officiating. Memorials may be given to: American Cancer Society, Midwest Division, 3311 S. Packerland Dr., DePere, WI 54115.
