Horatio Villacorta Verde, MD, age 87, of Ripon, WI, and formerly of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Ripon Medical Center.
Horatio was born in the Philippines on October 21, 1930, the son of Ambrosio and Carmen (Villacorta) Verde. After high school, Horatio went on to medical school and received a medical degree in psychiatry and was a practicing psychiatrist until his retirement. In 1957, he married Sylvia Tarrosa in Chicago. He loved to travel around the world and would study and learn the language of the country he was traveling to. He enjoyed his sports cars, art, reading, boating, skiing and attempted other hobbies like stained glass and bee keeping.
Horation is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Crown Point, IN; his children, Glenn (Carla) Verde of Crown Point, IN, Diana (Brian) Davis of Ripon, WI, Cathy (Steve) Indermuehle of Grafton, WI, Marc (Lynn) Verde of Germantown, MD, Valerie (Thom) Jordan of Montclair, NJ, Marilyn (Patrick) Devine of Schererville, IN; three sisters, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
A private family memorial service for Horatio will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Father William Whalen officiating. A memorial is being established in his name.
