Hillary K. Hank Steggall, age 66, of Ripon, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 6, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.
Hillary was born on March 2, 1942, in Oelwein, IA, the son of Jesse Claire and Dorothy Mae Steggall. He was a graduate of Oelwein High School in 1961, and joined the U.S Marine Corp. serving our country from 1961-1966. In 1967, he married Jean Lucille Schuety in Hazelton, IA. Hank was employed by P.F.M., Chartwell and Sedexo for a period of 40 years. He spent 18 summers providing food service for boys and staff at Owassippe Boy Scout Reservation, Whitehall, Michigan. He loved fishing, working in the garden, stained glass, and hosting great parties for family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Jean of Ripon, WI; sons, Michael (Karen) Steggall of Watertown, WI and Derick (Shannon) Steggall of Ripon, WI; daughter, Melissa (Paul Braun) Steggall of Waterloo, IA; the loves of his life, his 14 grandchildren, Joren, Kylun, Brayden, Autumn, Aimee, Jesse, Haley, Alyssa, Danika, Alexis, Payton, Gabriel, Clare and Grace; sister, Sharon Carnicle of Oelwein, IA and numerous family and friends. Hank is preceded in death by his parents and son, Joshua. As he leaves us and runs into his Lords arms, he will truly be missed.
Visitation for Hillary Steggall will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon and again on Saturday, October 11, 2008, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
Funeral Service for Hillary Steggall will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Stolar Jr. officiating. Interment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
