Hilda Burrell, age 101, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at her home with her family by her side.
Hilda was born on May 2, 1916, in Newark, NJ, the daughter of Ernest and Freida (Naber) Cooper. She attended school in Westmont, IL, and on July 18, 1942, she married Samuel Burrell. Hilda loved to work and spent many years working in the shipping department at Jewel Tea Company in Barrington, IL. She later owned the Open Trunk in Ripon, WI, and also worked at the Fox River Glove Company in Ripon. Hilda was a member of the American Legion, and a Cub Scout Leader of Pack #93 in Lake Zurich, IL. She had a passion to read and also enjoyed nature. Hilda especially loved and cherished her family and their time together.
Hilda is survived by her children, Carol J. Wright of Green Lake, WI, Marlene E. Burrell of Highland Park, IL, Janice N. Burrell of Green Lake, WI, Thomas D. Burrell of Deerfield, IL, and Terrie L. Burrell of Green Lake, WI; grandchildren, Brad Wright of Fond du Lac, WI, and Madeline and Samuel Burrell of Barrington, IL; and her beloved cat Coco-Chanel. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Frieda; her husband, Samuel; five sisters and one brother.
A graveside service for Hilda will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake, WI, with Chaplain Bill Shuerman officiating.
