Harold Olm

Harold “Harry” Eugene Olm, age 85, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

Harry was born June 19, 1935, in Hutchins, WI, the son of Earl and Lucille (Hoersch) Olm. He graduated from Kimberly High School and went on to serve our country in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958 during the Korean Conflict. On June 29, 1957, Harry married Kay Wegner in Appleton.

Harry worked as a boiler tender and after retiring from the paper mill, he worked for Ripon Printers for 10 years and also enjoyed driving cars for West Side Garage in Berlin. Harry loved to ride his Gold Wing and playing pool with his grandson on a pool league. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Kay Olm of Ripon, WI; four children, Stephen (Diana) Olm of Ripon, WI, Victoria Gack of Fond du Lac, WI, Daniel (Shelley) Olm of Pomfret Center, CT and Amy (Michael) Gadbois of Kaukauna, WI; seven grandchildren, William (Trisha) Olm of Ripon, WI, Stephanie (TJ) Miller of Ripon, WI, Ethan (Esme) Gack of Ripon, WI, Michael Olm of Pomfret Center, CT, Scott Olm of Burlington, CT, Olivia Gadbois of Kaukauna, WI and Derek (Jessy) Frederick of Green Lake, WI; five great-grandchildren, Hayden, Keyena, Oakley, Nayeli and Wyatt; brother, Conrad Olm of Kaukauna, WI; two sisters, Myrtle Johnson of Canby, OR and Darlene (Kurt) Wagner of Appleton, WI and brother-in-law, Jerome (Marjorie) Wegner of Wauwatosa, WI. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lucille Olm; son-in-law, Timothy Gack; brother-in-law, Kenneth Johnson; nephew, Douglas Johnson; father-in-law, Melvin Wegner and mother-in-law, Marcella Wegner.

Memorial Mass for Harry will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 12:00 pm at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 E. Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971. St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church practices safe-distancing, mask and sanitation in accordance with current Covid-19 recommendations.

A final salute with Military Funeral Honors will follow the memorial mass at church. Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial is being established in his name. The family would like to thank Hospice Home of Hope for their kind and loving care.
