Grace L. Cluppert

Grace L. Cluppert, age 91, of Fairwater, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Markesan Resident Home in Markesan, WI with her family by her side.

Grace was born on September 1, 1932, daughter of Lawrence and Laura (Daehn) Bade. She graduated from Brandon High School. In 1952, she married Herb Cluppert, who passed away in 1998. Over the years, Grace worked at Lee’s Grocery store in Fairwater, WI, and worked at the canning factory in Fairwater up until she retired. Grace always enjoyed being around her family, especially her great-grandchildren always made her happy. Grace also enjoyed watching her sports, The Brewers, Packers, Bucks, and Badgers. She also enjoyed country music and watching RFD TV and gameshows. Grace loved traveling to Nashville years back with her husband, Herb, her brother, Robert, and her best friend Kathy and her husband, Bob.

Grace is survived by her son, Jim (Lisa) Cluppert of Fairwater, WI; her daughter, Patricia (Dale) Laybourn also of Fairwater, WI; grandchildren, Kim (Dennis) Holterman of Watertown, WI, Kristin (Kirk) Preitz of Markesan, WI, Brian Laybourn of Ripon, WI, and Nicole Deaver (Tim Kamphuis) of Fairwater, WI; five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brady, Kaylee, Brinley, and Rycker; brother, Robert Bade; a sister, Shirley (Clarence) Huenink; and sisters-in-law, Doris Bade, Ruth Cluppert, Evelyn Schmidt, and Sue Cluppert. She is further survived by several nieces; nephews; cousins; and her special friends, Kathy Starbird and Arlene Mantes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb; her parents, Lawrence and Laura Bade; two brothers, Don and Bernard Bade; brothers-in-law, Emery, Marv, Art, Russell, and Wilbert Cluppert; sisters-in-law, Muriel Cluppert, Twila Cluppert, Darlene Bade; and a brother-in-law, LeRoy Schmidt.

Visitation for Grace will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 am on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church, 100 Church St., Fairwater, WI 53931.

A memorial service for Grace will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairwater, WI with Rev. Kimberly Stowell and Pastor Gary Zacharias officiating. Inurnment will take place at Fairwater Cemetery. A memorial is being established in her name.
