Gordon “Gordy” A. Farrell, age 60, of Green Lake, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 23, 2016, at Theda Care Medical Center in Appleton.
Gordy was born October 18, 1955, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Norman and Marilyn (Pitcher) Farrell. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1973. Gordy served our country as a SSG in the United States Army National Guard from 1973 – 1986. He went on to further his education at Cardinal Stritch University and received his business degree. Gordy was the Founder and CEO of Farrell Wagon Company in Green Lake. He served on the Green Lake School Board from 2007 to 2014. He was a member of the Lions Club in Green Lake and the Green Lake Willis-Chapel Legion Post #306. Gordy was well known in the community for his wonderful spirit about life.
Gordy is survived by his two children, Sara (Tom) Behling of New York and James (Brittany) Farrell of Oshkosh, WI; seven grandchildren, Alex, Rebecca, Hannah, Matthias, Wesley, Hudson and Nora; three sisters, Ann (Tim) Marr of New Berlin, WI, Colleen (Keith) Kasubaski of Wautoma, WI and Patty (Lee) Volp of Winneconne, WI; nieces and nephews, Mandy (Steve) Krueger, Ben (Beth) Farrell, Alyson (John) Hamel, Kevin Marr, Joe Kasubaski, Steve (Lyndsey) Kasubaski, Carly Volp and Elise Volp; his beloved, Janice Keller and her children, Brandi (Travis) Kovalaske, Audra (Jamie) Howen and Kerrie (Nick) Bredemann and Janice’s grandchildren, Mahaila, Miranda, Ethan, Maleigha, McKenna, Peyson, Annelise and Rylend. Gordy was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Marilyn; brother, Tim and sister, Connie.
Visitation for Gordon will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 4 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, May 27, 2016, from 1 – 2:00 pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., Princeton, WI 54968.
Mass of Christian Burial for Gordon will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016, at 2:00 pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton. Father Dale W. Grubba will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake with Full Military Honors. A memorial is being established in Gordy’s name.
