Gordon C. Berg, age 89, of Ripon, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at the American House of Ripon where he has lived since January of this year.
He was born April 21, 1911, in Minnesota, a son to William and Amelia (Lamonska) Berg. He attended country school and graduated from Markesan High School. Gordon farmed with his father until 1948. He then lived in the Village of Fairwater and worked at the Fairwater Creamery. He later worked as a machinist at Speed Queen until 1974 when he retired. Mr. Berg was a member of the Fairwater Lutheran Church. Gordon was an avid duck hunter and loved to make gun stocks.
Survivors include 6 cousins, Arnold (Muriel) Lamonska of Ripon, Elaine Wiese of Oakfield, Marjorie (Arnold) Renn of Princeton, Kenneth (Charmaine) Lamonska of Oakfield, Arthur (Carol) Lamonska of Oshkosh, and Myrtle Grams of South Dakota. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. lnurnment will be in the Fairwater Cemetery, Fairwater. A memorial has been established in his name for the Fairwater Lutheran Church.
