Glenn Zahn

Glenn Z. Zahn, age 92, of Markesan, WI, formerly of Brandon, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Markesan Resident Home with family by his side.

Glenn was born February 1, 1929, in the family farm house outside of Ripon, WI, the son of Elmer and Beatrice (Spaulding) Zahn. He drove truck for Rippin Good Cookies hauling ingredients for the factory. On June 25, 1949, Glenn married Mary Ellen Splitt and lived in Ripon with her. She passed away on January 28, 1982. Then on December 20, 1982, he married Bonnie Jean Kaatz and shortly after moved out to Bonnie’s farm near Brandon. Living on the farm he enjoyed cutting wood for his outdoor wood burner and planting gardens that his family and friends could enjoy the fruits of his labor. Bonnie passed away on March 25, 2004. He enjoyed going out to eat and being with his friends and family.

Survivors include daughter, Nancy (Larry) James of Eldorado, WI; two step-children, Bart (Jeannie) Ludjack of Waupun, WI and Nina (Gary) McCoy of Kissimmee, FL; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, son-in-law, Brian Zamzow and daughter-in-law, MaryLynn Zahn. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Mary Ellen and Bonnie Zahn; four children, Sue Zahn, Patty Zamzow, David Zahn and Steve Zahn; one brother, Raymond Zahn and four sisters, Beverly Burton, Lucille Hall, Mary Hoffman, Jenny Bryant.

Visitation for Glenn will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, from 9 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial Service for Glenn will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Donald Deike officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial is being established in his name.
