Gilbert "Gib" Stibb
April 26, 1939 — January 19, 2020
Gilbert “Gib” E. Stibb, age 80, of Princeton, WI passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with Parkinson's.
Gib was born at home in the township of Mecan, WI on April 26, 1939, the son of Herman and Irene (Lueck) Stibb. He attended Montello High School. On June 3, 1961 he married Marlene Klingbeil at St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton, WI. Gib was a farmer but also worked at Del Monte in Markesan, WI as well as Menasha Corporation in Green Lake, WI. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton. Gib most enjoyed tractor pulling with all different models of tractors, but his favorite was Allis Chalmers. He also had a passion of working on old tractors with his son, Brian, and giving them new life. Gib was a proud member of the Wisconsin Tractor Pullers Association.
Gib is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marlene Stibb; his son, Brian (Teri) Stibb; and his daughter, Brenda (Ron) Kraus all of Princeton, WI; three grandchildren, Jessie Stibb of Las Vegas, NV; Branden Stibb and Shawna Stibb both of Princeton, WI; sisters, Hazel Weckwerth of Ripon, WI, Valerie Stone of Portage, WI, Carrie (Darrel) Seehaver of Princeton, WI and Ruby (Tom) Herbst of Birnamwood, WI; brothers, Floyd (Carolyn) Stibb and Leroy (Margie) Stibb both of Princeton, WI; brother-in-law, Leland Schueler of Princeton, WI; sisters-in-law, Pearl Stibb of Berlin, WI and Sharon Osgood of Fond du Lac, WI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Irene Stibb; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Minnie Klingbeil; an infant brother, Marvin Stibb; brothers, Orlo, Melvin, and Gordon Stibb; sisters, Verona Schueler and Eunice Pamenter; brothers-in-law, Ron Osgood, Robert Pamenter, Wilbert Weckwerth; and sisters-in-law, Arvilla Stibb and Darlene Stibb.
Visitation for Gib will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, 226 S. Clinton St., Princeton, WI 54968.
Funeral service for Gib will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 24, 2020 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton, with Pastor John Stelter officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Gib's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Generations Home Care and Hospice in Fond du Lac, WI for their wonderful care of Gib.
