Gerylene "Geri" Meilahn

Gerylene “Geri” Esther Meilahn, age 94, of Pickett/Oshkosh, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh.
Geri was born on November 9, 1914, in the Township of Nekimi, WI, the daughter of Charles and Lulu (Roe) O’Harrow. She graduated from Oshkosh High School and on November 23, 1935, Geri married Nelson Meilahn at Geri’s home on Clairville Rd. Geri was a loving wife, devoted mother, a passionate homemaker and a dedicated farming partner. For nearly 24 years Nelson and Geri owned and operated the Oaks Farm Dairy in the Town of Rosendale. Geri often reminisced about those busy years of bottling, and delivering milk door to door through the surrounding villages and the city of Ripon.
Geri was a member of Countryside Christian Church, a youth leader at Elo United Methodist Church, a former member of Ripon Lioness Club and a 4-H Leader.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Clyde) Brey; grandchildren, Douglas (Kris) Brey and Kia (Brent) Wright; and a great-granddaughter, Stella Lu Wright all of Oshkosh; another daughter, Nancy Meilahn of Oshkosh; one granddaughter, Abby Stark of Racine; great-granddaughter, Erricka Stark of Racine; two great-grandsons, Andrew and Gavin Stark of Racine; grandson Derrick (Ana) Grahn of Cabo San Lucas, MX; great-grandson, Oliver Grahn of Cabo San Lucas, MX; step-grandson, Bob Howell of Indianapolis, IN; one son, Michael (Jane) Meilahn of Pickett; grandchildren, Jay Meilahn of Pickett and Genevieve Meilahn of Ripon; two great-grandsons, Maxwell and Dashiell Hartman of Ripon. Geri was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister and brother.
Visitation for Geri will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009, from 4 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon and again on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Royal Ridges from 9 – 11:00 am.
Funeral Service for Geri will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at 11:00 am at Royal Ridges in Ripon. Reverend Gregory C. Decker will officiate. Interment will be at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Utica. A memorial has been established in her name.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community, Heartland Hospice, Pastor Gregory Decker and Elder Chip Kintopf for all of their caring and compassion.
