Gerald Sanders

Gerald “Gerry” Alvin Sanders passed away at his home on May 6, 2022. He was born in Ripon on January 9, 1943. After graduating from Brandon High School in 1961, he was employed at Speed Queen in Ripon. Following that he decided to become self-employed as a hog farmer in America’s Dairyland. He was the sole supplier of pork to Brandon Meats for over 20 years. Upon retiring from the hog operation, he worked for Kent Feeds in Fairwater. Gerry was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, rarely missing a game from his recliner.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Wanda (Tavs) of 57 years; three children; son, Michael (Kerry) Sanders Sun Prairie, WI, Pamela (Dirk) Swanson formerly of Ripon, WI, Andrea (Joshua) Mills of Ripon, WI; eight grandchildren, Claire Sanders of Chicago, IL, Carson Sanders of Milwaukee, WI, and Drew Sanders, of Stevens Point, WI, Alexa Miller of Madison, WI, Whitney and Brian Radcliff of Appleton, WI, Brianne and Patrick Murphy of Marquette, MI, Isaac Mills of Madison, WI, Erika Mills of Ripon, WI. Also, survived by sister, LeMay Pfieffer; sister-in-law, Charleen Strook; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Sharon Krohn; brother-in-law, William Tavs, also forty nieces and nephews.

Gerald was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, August and Clara Sanders; Father and Mother in-law, Wilton and Angeline Tavs; brother and sister-in-law, August and Emily Sanders; brother in-law, Lester and Lurah Sanders; brother in-law, Donald Pfieffer; and brother in-law, Darold Strook.

The family is hosting a brief memorial service on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 5:00 PM followed by a celebration of life party from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Gerry and Wanda’s home N5280 Oak Grove Road Brandon, WI. Heavy appetizers will be provided.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in honor of Gerald.
