Frank J. Smith, age 70, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at University Hospital in Madison, WI.
Frank was born in Ontonagon, MI, on June 10, 1947, the son of James and Nelly (Pittsley) Smith. He graduated from high school in Manistque, MI in 1963, and went on to serve our county in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Frank was a blacksmith and worked for Metal Works in Ripon for the past 20 years. He had a talent for being able to turn anything into an amazing piece of art.
Frank is survived by his significant other, Lisa of Ripon; children, James Patrick Smith, Nicole Smith, Jody Smith, Amy Smith, Stacey Smith; sisters, Sandra Seymour and Connie Campbell; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Nelly Smith; a brother, Ronald Norris; and several nieces and nephews.
A time of gathering for Frank will be held from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, 54971. There will be no funeral service. A memorial is being established in Frank's name.
