Frances E. Getzel, age 97, formerly Pickett, died Friday, January 14, 2000, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
She was born July 30, 1902, a daughter to Owen and Lena (Bock) Jones, and attended school in the Town of Rosendale. On April 1, 1929, she married Edward Getzel. Frances was a housewife and helped him on the farm.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Elaine (Robert) Schwartz of the Town of Rosendale and Sylvia (Gerald) Berwald of the Town of Black Wolf; 3 grandchildren, Gary (Lone) Berwald of the Town of Eldorado, Gregory (Loretta) Esterly of Fleetwood, PA and Jody (Jim) Schaick of Oshkosh; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward Getzel in 1981, infant son, Alex and half~brother, Ernst Lutz.
Private services will be held Sunday, January 16, 2000, at 3 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Pastor David Busker officiating. Interment will be at Zoar Cemetery.
