Floyd M. Utke, age 89, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Maplecrest Manor in Ripon with his family by his side.
Floyd was born in Dalton, WI on October 18, 1928, the son of Max and Belle (Stellmacher) Utke. He graduated from high school in Cambria, WI, and went on to serve our country in the
U.S. Army. In 1951 he married DeLoris E. Krause in Oshkosh, WI. Floyd worked in maintenance at Ripon College for nineteen years and he had many other jobs throughout his working career. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, as well as the VFW Ripon Post 5278. Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved to travel.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 67 years, DeLoris; a daughter Julie (Brian) Klingbeil of Green Lake, WI; a granddaughter, Stacy (Erind) Qerimi of West Bend, WI; two great-grandsons, Adrian and Brayden Qerimi; and a sister, Dorothy Schepp of Madison, WI. He is further survived by nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Belle Utke; two brothers, Howard and Ray Utke; and his step-mother, Ann Utke.
A Visitation for Floyd will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI, 54971.
A Funeral Service for Floyd will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI, 54971, with Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Military honors will follow immediately after the service at the church. Interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Oshkosh, WI. A memorial is being established.
