Florence L. Benkoski, age 99, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Ripon Medical Center with her family by her side.
Florence was born October 6, 1917, in Marshfield, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Bernhardt) Fleischman. On September 21, 1940, she married Stanley R. Benkoski in Sacred Heart Church in Oshkosh, WI. Florence was an associate of the Benkoski Insurance and Real Estate Agency but her most important job was being a homemaker. She made everyone comfortable, well fed, and loved. To our family her house was a true home. She was a member of the Ripon V.F.W. and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church later changing their name to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Florence was also a secretary for the Ripon Senior Center. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Benkoski of Miami, FL; two sons, Michael (Carol Schuster) Benkoski of Barrington, IL and Robert (Barbara) Benkoski of Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Kristan of Pinehurst, NC, Lauren of Buffalo Grove, IL, Caitlin and Michael both of Bull Valley, IL; great-grandson, Matthew Benkoski of Brooklyn Park, MN; dear friend, Alison Furlin of Bull Valley, IL and sister-in-law, Gladys Fleishman of Green Bay, WI. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley; son, Ronald; two sisters, Alice and Rosemary and six brothers, Ben, William, Joseph, Edward, John and Robert.
Visitation for Florence will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017, from 3 – 5:30 pm with a Rosary at 5:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 9:30 – 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial for Florence will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017, at 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Father Robert A. Fictum and Father John Schmitz will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial is being established in Florence’s name.
