Evelyn Mantik

Evelyn Dorothy Mantik, age 91, of Ripon, Wisconsin, passed away to her eternal home on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Berlin Theda Care Medical Center.

Evelyn was born on August 28, 1928 on her family’s farm near Green Lake, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Reinhold and Pauline (Keplin) Feder. She attended Green Lake County School. On August 30, 1947, Evelyn married her sweetheart, Enos Mantik, in Berlin, Wisconsin. For their first 11 years of marriage, Evelyn and Enos farmed near Milan, Wisconsin. They later moved to Green Lake and continued to dairy farm until retirement. In her early years, Evelyn worked at Berlin Glove Factory and Green Giant Company. She was a devoted mother to four daughters and grandmother to four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Evelyn was a dedicated farming partner and home-maker. She was an excellent seamstress and loved crocheting. She enjoyed spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a member of Hillside Assembly in Ripon, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the ladies church ministry group. She had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She read her Bible and prayed for her family daily.

Survivors include her three daughters, Betty Ann Lowell (Garret) Peschke of Ripon, Judith Marie of Ripon, and Laura Jean (Richard) Stobb of Green Lake; four grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Jared) Wingers of Marinette, Wisconsin, Brian (Diana) Peschke of St. Joseph, Michigan, Rachelle (Scott) Krahenbuhl of Menasha, Wisconsin and Danielle (special friend, Anthony Mandella) Stobb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three great-grandchildren, Levi and Zach Wingers of Marinette, Wisconsin and Evan Peschke of St. Joseph, Michigan; sister-in-law, Elaine Olson of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Gordon Minch of Ripon, Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was proceeded in death by her parents, Reinhold and Pauline Feder; her husband, Enos Mantik; one daughter, Jane Adell Mantik; brothers, William, Oswald, Bernard, Arnold, Arthur; and sisters, Amanda, Clara, Mabel, Helen, Verona and Hazel.

A private family service for Evelyn will take place on Monday, May 4, 2020, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Erik Boulier officiating. Interment for Evelyn will follow at Bluffton Cemetery, Town of Brooklyn, WI, with an inurnment for Jane Mantik occuring at this time also. A memorial is being established in Evelyn’s name.
