Evelyn S. Goyette

Evelyn Sophia Goyette, age 95, of Sheboygan, WI, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, WI.

Evelyn was born in Brandon, WI, on March 25, 1930, daughter of Frank and Meta (Klentz) Brown. She graduated from Brandon High School in 1948. Evelyn met Robert “Bobby” Hoffmann at Evelyn’s sister’s wedding. For decades, they lived their separate lives, but never forgot about each other. They reconnected at her sister’s 60th wedding anniversary, and spent the next 10 years loving each other, taking care of each other, and happier than ever. Bobby passed away on January 29, 2020. Evelyn worked for many years at Ripon Knitting Works and later at Smuckers in Ripon. She is known for her fudge and generous portions of her delicious meals and desserts. She enjoyed traveling with Bobby and most of all cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn was a member of St. Patrick’s Altar Society and a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church; as well as a secretary for the Little Green Lake Association.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Bruce (Connie) Goyette of Appleton, WI, Gail (Barry) VandeBrink of Ripon, WI, Brian (Brooke) Goyette of Ripon, WI, and Brent (Kerri) Goyette of Texas; 11 grandchildren, Amanda (Jamie) Novak, Sara Goyette, Benjamin Goyette, Jeremie (Jamie) VandeBrink, Josh VandeBrink, Kim (Adam) Downs, Alex (Heidi) Goyette, Emily (Ryan) Larke, Megan (Dick) Lanford, Hailey Goyette, and Samantha Goyette; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jane Brown of Ripon, WI; god-daughters, Terry Mabee and Diana Fetzer; and several nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Meta Brown; companion and best friend, Robert “Bobby” Hoffmann; a sister, Helen (Robert) Timm; an infant sister, Arlene Brown; an infant brother, Merlin Brown; and several aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Visitation for Evelyn will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 am on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 E. Blossom St., Ripon, WI, 54971.

Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, with Fr. Chuck Wrobel officiating. A private family interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Kohler, WI at a later date. A memorial is being established in her name.

Her family would like to extend a special thanks to Lisa Gelhar and the care team at The Residence Assisted Living facility in Oshkosh for treating mom so kindly for her last 2 1/2 years. A special thank you also to Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh for such commendable care in her last days.
