Eugene Gordon Wittchow, age 81, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Barrett House in Ripon.
Eugene was born May 30, 1936, on the family farm in Rosendale, WI, the son of August and Dorothy (Paul) Wittchow. He graduated from Rosendale Free High School. In 1958, Eugene married Marion Machmueller at Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun. He worked as a service tech writer at Speed Queen currently Alliance Laundry Systems for 44 ½ years. Eugene was always known for his smile and quick wit. Eugene was a Boy Scout and became a Scout Master as an adult. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the Eagles Club. Eugene was an avid Packers and Badgers fan along with hanging with family and friends and being known as always having a story or a joke to tell. Eugene was a loving husband, father and grandfather along with being adored by his girls at the Barrett House. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Wittchow; three sons, Rusty Wittchow and his children, Chase (Crystal), Grant and Reed; Ronnie Wittchow and his children, Brennan, Amanda (Special Friend, Chad) and Mikena and Robbie Wittchow and his son, Brodie; eight great-grandchildren and special granddaughter, Leigh (Jordan) Baker; sister, Shirley (Orville) Batterman; sister-in-law, Rosie Wittchow; brother-in-law, Bob Miller; sister-in-law, Betty (Arnold) Malzhan and brother-in-law Theodore (Caroline) Machmueller. Eugene was further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Dorothy Wittchow; sister, Marilyn Miller; brother, Duane “Pooky” Wittchow; four sisters-in-law and their husbands and mother and father-in-law, Theodore and Henrietta Machmueller.
Visitation for Eugene will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, from 9 – 12:00 pm at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Eugene will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 12:00 pm at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon with Reverend Clay R. Salmela officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St. Ripon, WI 54971.
