Eugene Dewy Wallschlaeger, age 96, of Ripon, WI, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Ripon Community Hospital.
Eugene was born July 23, 1925, in Ripon, WI, the son of Walter and Ella (Geiese) Wallschlaeger. He graduated from Ripon High School and went on to further his education at Ripon College and received his accountant degree. Eugene then worked as an accountant for the Ripon school system.
Eugene loved spending holidays and summer time Up North, with his niece and nephews and their families. He enjoyed fishing, working puzzles, card games, fireworks and bingo. Gene loved big band music, reading, and following the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks. Gene was an integral part of our family, never missing an important event in our lives and he will be greatly missed.
Eugene was committed to community service as evident by his involvement with Our Saviors United Church of Christ, service on the Russell Manor Board and being a member of the Lions Club for 60 years.
Survivors include his cousins, Wayne (Eileen), Chuck (Susan) and John; nephews, Michael (Charlene), Geary and Patrick (Jeanne) niece Mary (Michael); great-nieces and nephews, Tricia, Brian, Scott, Amy, Michelle, Michael, Julie, T.J. He was preceded in death by his parents, great-nephew, Christopher Wallschlaeger and brother, Walter Wallschlaeger.
Visitation for Eugene will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 10 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Eugene will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon with Reverend Dr. Kevin Mundell officiating. Inurnment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Leader Dogs for the Blind, 1039 S.
