Esther Huibregtse, age 93, of Ripon, passed away Friday, July 11, 2008 at Michalene’s in Ripon.
Esther was born on January 22, 1915, in Livingson, MT, the daughter of Clifford and Jane (Austin) Helgeson. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1931 and then attended Ripon College. On March 6, 1947, she married Howard Edward Huibregtse in Tokyo, Japan. Esther was a member of First Congregational Church UCC of Ripon since 1930, Church Women United, Women’s Fellowship of Congregational Church, Ripon Historical Society and several bridge clubs.
Survivors include her children, Jane (Robert) Cotter of Ripon, Thomas (Patricia Meffen) Huibregtse of Avon, CT and Jorah (Jeffrey Veal) Huibregtse of State Center, Iowa; grandchildren, Margaret (Grant) Stanfield of Grafton, WI, Thomas Heffernan of Appleton, Jason Roy Huibregtse of College Park, MD and Kelsey Ann Huibregtse of Avon, CT; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Stanfield and James Patrick Stanfield both of Grafton, WI; niece, Bonnie (Bo) Price of Milton, VT; nephew, Tom (Debbie) Helgeson of Hilo, HI and many nieces and nephews. Esther is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Howard Roy and brother, Thomas C. Helgeson.
Visitation for Esther Huibregtse will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Esther Huibregtse will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Kraaz officiating. Interment will be held in Garden of the Cross Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials may be given to: First Congregational Church UCC, 220 Ransom St. Ripon, WI 54971
