Emily M. Copack, 84, formerly of Chicago, IL, died Wednesday evening, April 26, 2000, at Markesan Resident Home.
She was born in Chicago on November 4, 1915, a daughter to Valentine and Mary Kovac. She worked as an assistant nurse in the medical department of Joanna Western Mills in Chicago for 34 years. On May 19, 1934, she married Michael E. Copack, and they made their home in Chicago.
Survivors include daughters, Marlene (Steve) Bennett, Green Lake, WI and Irene Copack, Clarendon Hills, IL; 2 sons, Michael G. (Judy) Copack, Henderson, NV and Thomas (Kathy) Copack, Valrico, FL; 8 grandchildren, Kathleen DiGregorio, Michael J. Copack, Lisa Kuda, Ellen Copack, Valerie Kuda, Diane Copack, Craig Copack and Kyle Copack; 7 great-grandchildren, Amy, Kristen, Jennifer, Joseph, Brittany, Jordan, and Michael A. She is further survived by her brother, George (Gene) Kovac. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997, parents, and 2 sisters.
Funeral service for Emily M. Copack will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, Lemont, IL on Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at 10 AM. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, from 2 until 8 PM, and again on Monday, May 1, from 2 until 8 PM at Marquette Funeral Homes, Ltd, Lemont, IL. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
