Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Eichstedt, age 95, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Prairie Place with her family by her side.
Betty was born on June 27, 1927 at Ripon Hospital, the daughter of Carl and Ida (Wesner) Hoffman. She graduated from Ripon High School and on October 6, 1946 she married Robert Eichstedt. Together they raised their 6 children on a farm. She spent her early years as a stenographer at Western Union and later worked at Ripon Foods as a cookie packer for 30 years. She cherished spending time with kids, whether at church as a Sunday School Teacher or listening to children read at the elementary school. Betty enjoyed playing golf and most of all adored spending time with her family. She was a life-long member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and was a committed member of the United Methodist Women’s Group.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Michael (Maureen) Eichstedt of Berlin and Gary (Charlotte) Eichstedt of Ripon; daughters, Sue Bresser of New Market, AL; Judy (Mark) Carpenter of Green Bay, WI and Bonnie (Ronald Anderson) Anderson-Eichstedt of Linden, NC; 21 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen "Kitty" Eichstedt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Mark; granddaughters, Ronelle “Ronie” Eichstedt, Tammy Lynn Eichstedt, Melissa Brown-Carpenter, and Tiffany Finley Eichstedt; son-in-law, Lynn Bresser; her siblings, Violet, Edwin, Edna and Reuben and her parents. Betty was the last of her generation.
Visitation for Elizabeth Eichstedt will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971, and again from 9:00 until 10:00 am on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 West Fond du Lac St. Ripon, WI 54971.
A funeral service for Betty will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Harsha Kotian officiating. You may view a livestream of Betty's service at 10:00 am here LIVESTREAM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon, WI. A memorial is being established in her name.
