Edward “Ed” O. Scoville, age 89, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI.

Ed was born on July 19, 1936 in Berlin, WI, son of Claire and Edith (Swick) Scoville. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1955 and went on to serve our country in the Army National Guard. On December 12, 1959 he married Rogene Splittgerber in Ripon. After moving to Ripon, Ed began working at Green Giant and worked there the majority of his life, mostly out doing field work. He was an avid ice fisherman and was involved with Walleyes for Tomorrow. He cherished his annual trips to Canada with friends to go fishing. Ed also loved bowling and often made the paper for his high series scores. He was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon where is served as usher for many years and helped with confirmation classes. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his daughter, Gail Scoville; son, Steve Scoville both of Ripon, WI; two granddaughters, Kelly (Bowen) Voigt of Ripon, WI and Kaitlyn (Hailey) Scoville of Oshkosh, WI; grandson, Archie (Macklyn) Scoville of Minneapolis, MN; two great-grandsons, Ryder Schultz and Fynn Voigt; a brother, Howard Scoville of Berlin, WI; brother-in-law, Myron (Pat) Splittgerber; and several nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claire and Edith Scoville; his wife, Rogene Scoville; a brother, Richard Scoville; sister-in-law, Cheryl Scoville; and brother-in-law, Ronald Splittgerber.

Visitation for Ed will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Grace Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Ed will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon, with Rev. Clay R. Salmela officiating. Interment will follow at Nepeuskun Cemetery, Town of Nepeuskun, WI. A final salute and full military honors will take place at the cemetery. A memorial is being established in his name.
