Edward E.J. John Dorsch, age 91, of Ripon, WI, died peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Prairie Place.
He was born on July 3, 1926, in Ripon, WI, to Michael and Dorothy (Bednarek) Dorsch. He was happy at the Ripon Schools, but he eagerly waited for graduation and his 18th birthday, because he wanted to enlist in the Armed Forces during World War II and fight for his country. As an infantryman he spent time in France, Germany, and Austria.
Serveral years after WWII, he joined the Ripon National Guard to which he belonged for many years, retiring as a Major.
E.J. is survived by his wife of 60 years, Annabelle, his sister, Bernice Bunny Endeward and his brother, Donald. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Judy (Rutkowski) Michel, Rita (Rutkowski) Weber, Renee (Endeward) Henderson, Michael Dorsch, John Dorsch, Susan (Dorsch) Clark and Mary (Dorsch) Baumann. E.J. is further survived by Annabelles niece, Kay Fadden and her husband, Mike, who put tremendous effort to make E.J.s last days bearable. E.J. was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Alice (Dorsch) Rutkowski.
A private family memorial mass will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Catherine of Siena Church with Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
