Edgar Weiss

Edgar Marvin Weiss, age 92, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Maplecrest in Ripon with family by his side.
Edgar was born June 8, 1925, at home in the Town of Brooklyn, WI, the son of Adam and Bertha (Ahrens) Weiss. He was a farmer all of his life. Edgar never left the farm in the Town of Brooklyn where he was born and farmed it until the present. In 2012, the Weiss Farm was given the Century Farm Award. On August 9, 1950, Edgar married Evangeline Eimermann. She passed away on June 4, 1981. He then remarried on October 6, 1984, to Evelyn Page Kaufman in Ripon, WI. Edgar was an active member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, which he served in many different church organizations.
In Edgars earlier years he enjoyed hunting waterfowl, turkey and deer. He also had a fondness for animals whether it be a pet dog or a barn cat. Edgar had a green thumb and loved tending his vegetable garden or taking care of flowers or house plants.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Weiss of Green Lake, WI; daughter, Janet (Jim) Townsend of Milton, WI; grandchild, Tony Townsend; step-children, David Page of Neshkoro, WI, Duane (Ingrid) Page of Wayneville, NC and Douglas (Amy) Page of Saukville, WI; step-grandchildren, Pam (Karl) Goldbeck, Ben Page Martens, Breah, Drew and Carter Page, Carson and Emmerson Page and Josh Reetz and step-great-grandchildren, Josh, Matt and Nick Goldbeck. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Bertha Weiss; his first wife, Evangeline Weiss; three sisters, Norma Goeden, Esther Hoffman and Dorothy Liptow and step-daughter-in-law, Michelle Page.
Visitation for Edgar will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 10 – 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Edgar will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon with Reverend Michael Morning officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon, WI. A memorial is being established in his name.
