DuWayne Arden Krueger, age 72, Ripon, died Saturday, November 27, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving wife and family at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
DuWayne was born April 2, 1932, at home in the Town of Metomen in Fond du Lac County, the son of Harvey and Esther (Dahms) Krueger. He graduated from Brandon High School in 1950. On September 22, 1963, DuWayne married Joyce (Krenz) in Ripon. DuWayne was a member of the National Guard from 1951 to 1952, president of The Fraternal Order of Eagles from 1961 -1962, president of the Ripon Ridge Riders, EMT and member of the Auxiliary Police. He worked for Fullerton Lumber Company for 43 years. After Fullertons closed, he worked for Ron Krenz Construction for 3 years. DuWayne drove cars for Sweeneys Auction Associates for the past 7 years. He was a Part-Time City of Ripon Police Officer for over 20 years, a City of Ripon Fireman for 36 years (1958-1981, Captain 1982 -1987, Assistant Fire Chief 1988 1994) and a farmer, which he enjoyed doing all his life. DuWayne was an active lifelong member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, served on church council many years and a devoted member of the Serendipity Mens Bible Study Group.
Survivors include Wife, Joyce; Children, Susan (Robert) Meyer of Ripon, Steven (Dena) Krueger of Appleton, Sandra (Dennis) Moldenhauer of DeForest, Stacey Krueger of Ripon, Stuart (Kristy) Krueger of Brandon and Shirley (Wesley) Stibb of Green Lake; Nine grandchildren, Adam Meyer, Grace Krueger, Kelly and Devin Moldenhauer, Brennan and Anastasia Krueger, Isaac, Jacob and Emma Krueger; Three sister-in-laws, Sandra (Wayne) Kieck of Dalton, Irene (Charles) Creighbaum of Holiday, FL and Vera Lynn Krenz of Markesan; Four brother-in-laws, Ron (Joyce) Krenz of Waupun, Robert (Jan) Krenz of Markesan, Howard (Cynthia) Krenz of Cambria and Edward (Jenny) Krenz of Montgomery, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Esther; brother, Harvey Jr.; brother-in-law, Scott Krenz and daughter-in-law, DeAnna Krueger.
Funeral service for DuWayne Arden Krueger will be held Tuesday, November 30th at 10:30 a.m. at Our Saviours United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Mark R. West officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, November 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, and again Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held in Fairwater Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
DuWayne was a loving husband, wonderful father, faithful friend and a strong, hardworking man. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and fellow church members. Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, is assisting the family.
