Duel Stobb

Duel “Charlie” C. Stobb, age 87, of Brandon, WI, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Waupun Christian Home in Waupun, WI.

Charlie was born in Ripon, WI, on September 01, 1930, the son of Walter and Minnie (Messerschmidt) Stobb. After school, Charlie went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, for which he received a Purple Heart. On August 18, 1951, in Fairwater, WI, he married Betty Fenske. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Brandon. Charlie was a mechanic for Green Giant canning company for many years. He was involved with the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program and loved all wildlife, especially rabbits. He was a member of the NRA, the Ripon American Legion, and Wings Over Wisconsin. Charlie enjoyed hunting, polka music, and most of all his family.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Betty; his four sons, Richard (Laura) Stobb of Green Lake, WI, Rodney (Pam) Stobb of Fond du Lac, WI, Robert Stobb of Oshkosh, WI, Ronald (Gen) Stobb of Waupun, WI; grandchildren, Rachelle (Scott) Krahenbuhl, Danielle Stobb, Amanda (Will) Burchard, Andrew (special friend, Bella Glavin) Stobb, Amber Ramirez, Alyssa (Kyle) Dittner, Brein, Braelinn Allemand, Riley, and Mason Stobb, Madi (special friend, Tyler DeBoer) Farr and Boyd Farr; one great-grandson, Declan; a brother-in-law, Donald Fenske; nieces; nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Minnie; two brothers, Warren and Eldred; and a sister, Ruth.

A visitation for Charlie will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 107 S. Prairie St., Brandon, WI, 53919.

A memorial service for Charlie will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Brandon, with Pastor Bob Rosenberg officiating. Full military honors at the church following the service. A memorial in Charlie's name is being established.
