Dorothy May Conard, age 98, of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at home with her family by her side.
Dorothy was born on May 12, 1927 in Green Bay, WI, daughter of Russell and Alice (Pelegrin) Pamperin. She graduated from Green Bay West High School and Badger Green Bay Business College. Dorothy married Cletus Conard on April 20, 1949 at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard, WI. She worked for Packers great, Don Hudson, at Hudson Motors. She worked 30 years at Curative Rehabilitation Center (now Curative Connections) as Housing and Transportation Coordinator as well as several other roles. She received Great Lakes Association of Rehabilitation SecretariesService Award for her work. Dorothy loved her years at Curative working with both staff and clients. She volunteered as an EMT with the Howard/Hobart Rescue Squad.
Her favorite activity was playing cards. She played in Bridge clubs and marathons, and enjoyed family card games. Dorothy and Clete loved the Packers and attending games. Football season never came too soon, and ended all too fast. Dorothy loved spending time with family more than anything.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Benesch of Rapid River, MI, Sharon (John) Wielgus of Ripon, WI, and Veronica (Chris) Jordan of Covington, KY; her grandchildren, Molly (Brent) Phillips, Shaun (Lindy) Pitz, Allison (Derek) Kavanaugh, Joshua (Rachael) Wielgus, Jacob (Cora) Wielgus, Luke Jordan, Hannah (Joakim) Stoeylen, and Elijah Jordan; her great-grandchildren, Mairead and Ardyn Kavanaugh, Luke, Morgan, and Madelyn Phillips, Sophia, Stella, Leah, and Celine Nerlfi, Asher, Morgan, and Ezra Wielgus, Marin and Owen Wielgus, and Linnea Stoeylen; and sisters, Elizabeth O’Connor and Rose Siudzinski.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Alice Pamperin; her husband, Cletus “Clete” Conard; a son, Kenneth Conard; brothers, George, Arnold, and James Pamperin; sisters, Esther O’Connor and Gladys Wagner; and her sweet cats, Rosebud and Rosie GaGa.
No public funeral service will be held per Dorothy’s wishes. Inurnment will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Howard, WI, at a later date. A celebration of life will take place for the immediate family.
The family extends their thanks to the wonderful staff of SSM Hospice, with special thanks to Becky.
